mainchoice.diff creates an option to show choices at most prompts in the main window by default. windows.diff allows the windows for Gumband to be specified via environment variables and the command line in X11 as is common in new versions. monlist.diff allows a list of nearby monsters to be shown in a window so that someone playing a version with multiple windows can tell at a glance that the monster standing next to the character is a rock lizard. It was adapted from Eytan Zweig's version of Iain Mcfall's patch to the same effect. weight.diff causes the show_weight option to include weight information when you use the look command on an object. This is intended to enable those playing in astral mode to have an easy way of telling whether a given weapon is light enough for a character to wield properly among other things. For this reason, I've included the relevant section of tables.c below: (for strength above 18, read as 18/Ext below) Minimum Strength Maximum weapon weight/lb 3-7 Str+1 7-18 2*Str-6 18/10-18/90 Ext/2+25 18/100-18/120 Ext/2+30 18/120-18/220 Ext/10+78 The "apportation" mutation can fetch objects up to (level)lb in weight. The similar mindcraft ability, spell and wand have a limit of 25lb. This patch does mean that it is possible to recognise a few artefacts without picking them up. I chose to do this rather than print an inaccurate weight in these cases because it doesn't seem like a huge benefit to me. The full list of such artefacts is: Object Weight Artefact Weight Scarlet Plate Armour* 2.5 .. of Pan Tang 25 Sword* 20 .. of Xiombarg 15 Sword* 20 .. of Mabelrode 10 Two-Handed Sword 20 .. 'Zarcuthra' 25+ Two-Handed Sword 20 .. of Twilight 25+ Katana 12 .. of Groo 6+ Long Sword 13 .. 'Vorpal Blade' 15+ Trident 7 .. of Wrath 21+ Mace 14 .. 'Taratol' 20+ Spear 5 .. 'Bryionak' 2.5+ Executioner's Sword 23 .. 'Retaliator' 40+ Beaked Axe 16 .. of Ice 14+ Scythe 25 .. of Death 20+ Iron Shield 12 .. of Celegorm 7.2 Cloak 1 .. 'Colluin' 1.5 Elven Cloak 0.5 .. of Thingol 1 Scale Mail 17.5 .. 'Nemovebla' 22.5 * These objects have the INSTA_ART flag, and as such are never seen in the ordinary form listed here. They're only included for completeness. + These artefacts have unusual damage dice, and so are easy to distinguish from other items with the same base item (except, in some cases, from rare ego items) without this patch.
